Glacial lakes of the Pyrenees of Huesca, Spain
Panticosa, is one of the most typical villages of the Huesca Pyrenees and the starting point of multiple routes leading to idyllic and high mountain lakes, many of them encompassed in the Natural Monument of the Glaciers Pyrenees. Most routes run at the start of forests that seem delighted. After an hour of walking, you reach an area where there is usually grazing herds of cows and horses, then you can see the deviations of several mountain lakes, such as Asses (2085 m). Its good to walk near the shore and enjoying the silence and then sit on a rock to watch the giant peaks that surround them.
The Federa lake, mirror of the Dolomites, Italy
The placid vision of the Federa lake surrounded by fir trees, with the refuge Palmieri near the shore and dominated by the ridge of Becco di Mezzodi (2603 m) is the reward for one of the most beautiful tours of the Dolomites. The day begins in Cortina d’Ampezzo, a historic town dedicated to skiing in winter and hiking in spring and summer. Continuing along a panoramic road leads to the core of Pocol (7 km), where you must find the parking at Rucurto bridge, from which start several trails. The Federa lake (2038 m) starts crossing a stream by a wooden bridge, and continuous ascension through forests of pine and larch. After an hour and a half, the terrain flattens and appears to us the idyllic landscape.
Walchensee in the Bavarian Alps. Germany
The lake of Walchem is a popular destination in the region of Bavaria. To visit it, pkease use the gondola station of Mount Herzogstand, where can be reached by bus from the village of Kochel am See (10 km). Once there you can choose to walk up to the refuge-restaurant situated on the top (20 min) to delight in the sights, or down to the shore, with the gondola (25 min) or walk (2h). Already lakeside, you can make cycling routes and water activities. The Walchensee Museum, installed on a Bavarian style chalet, shows the history and natural values, which is one of the largest (16.4 square km) and deep lakes (192.3 m) of Germany.
From Grindelwald to the Bachal Lake, Switzerland
The beautiful Bachalp lake at 2265 meters above sea level, surrounded by peaks such as the 4078 m, the highest in the canton of Bern. The starting point to visit is the charming village of Grindelwald. From there you have to take the cable car that ascends to the First station (20 min), where begin the trails run through fir forests and meadows with wildflowers and streams. One route is more classic, in less than an hour, it takes to Bachalp. In winter it is done with snowshoes and with good weather, walking or trotti bike (bicycle scooter). Arriving just have to enjoy the lake with snowy peaks and parapets that fly reflecting on the water.
